Monochrome print in magenta or b/w on contour-cut aluminum Dibond panel, 29.7 × 42 cm Edition of 13 (6 × Magenta, 7 × b/w) Numbered and signed by the artist Photography: Stefan Lux
On the occasion of his major solo exhibition 13 Film Works, Philipp Fleischmann (*1985 in Hollabrunn, AT) developed a camera that references the exhibition posters and brochures of fjk3 in terms of shape and size, thus reflecting the corporate identity of the institution. In Camera Object (fjk3), the artist combines the institution-critical aspect of his work with the reference of his works to spatial conditions by transforming the design guidelines of the institution into a sculptural gesture.
In the edition Camera Object (fjk3), it is not the image produced by the camera that is the subject, but rather a photograph of the camera itself as it is presented in the exhibition space. The form and color of the edition reference the exhibition posters, while the aluminum as the medium reflects the materiality of Fleischmann's camera objects. To emphasize the three-dimensional character of his works, the edition is mounted with a shadow gap.
