Scott Clifford Evans (1979 in Salt Lake City, USA) is an artist and filmmaker known for his work in the horror and splatter movie genres. His first feature-length film The Demoniacs centers on an order of nuns in a remote monastery who guard a gateway to hell. When this gateway opens, demonic possession and violence erupt in a tsunami of grotesquerie, slapstick, and absurdity.

Like all of the artist’s works, The Demoniacs is conceived as a major collaborative project made possible through cooperation with numerous fellow artists, who participated not only as actors but also as prop makers or behind the camera.

The photograph by Maria Ziegelböck used for this C-print was taken during filming and shows the artist Salvatore Viviano, who quite literally carries the savior in his name.
