Off The Shelf No. 7: Stefan Reiterer – Inflection Point
Fri, 16/1/2026, 7:00 PM
The artist Stefan Reiterer (b. 1988, lives and works in Vienna) translates digital maps and satellite imagery into the analog, physical realm through abstract painting. He manipulates data from sources like Google Earth and NASA, transforming them into illusory topologies and pseudo-cartographies that challenge our perception. His recent publication Inflection Point, published by DCV, is at the center of the seventh edition of the fjk3 program Off the Shelf, which focuses on issues surrounding publishing while engaging various actors within this field.
Inflection Point documents the eponymous exhibition at the Museum gegenstandsfreier Kunst (Otterndorf, Germany) and brings together texts by Wilko Austermann, Andrea Kopranovic, Diethard Leopold, and Clemens J. Setz. Designed by Marie Artaker in close collaboration with the artist, the publication positions itself as a hybrid form between an exhibition catalogue, an artist’s book, and a condensed overview of Reiterer’s work.
The title refers to a tipping point at which perspectives shift, systems become unstable, or new directions emerge. At the same time, it serves as the point of departure for both a critical and a poetic approach to an increasingly unstable, mediatized world.
