On the occasion of the exhibition WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT. Jeremy Deller. Prints & Posters 1993–2023, the artist(*1966 in London) has developed the edition "f ist für..." (f is for…). The screen print with the deliberate appearance of a woodcut exemplifies Jeremy Deller's reference to music and sound as well as his accompanying fascination with bats (German: Fledermäuse). The artist compares the echolocation clicks that bats emit for orientation with electronic music. This aspect plays into "Memory Bucket", the film for which Deller received the renowned Turner Prize in 2004, as well as into his soundtrack, which he created in 2018 together with dub legend Adrian Sherwood. Transferred to Austrian music culture and its history, "f ist für..." brings to mind the golden era of Viennese operetta, namely "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss.
