Bar: 6 pm – 10 pm
Performance: 8 pm

In ElseWhere Excavations, Berlin-based performance artist Jen Rosenblit slips into the role of the auctioneer, acting as a fence or liason with the public. What the artist excavates through texts in this archeological dig and puts up for auction are not artifacts, but immaterial ideas. How much to bid for an intangible concept? In the performance at Club Liaison Rosenblit highlights the invisibility, illegibility and erotics of desire’s decline once things are in the process of going, going, gone.

Jen Rosenblit, born 1983 in the USA, is based in Berlin after many years in New York City. Rosenblit’s performances focus on architectures, bodies, text, and ideas concerned with problems that arise inside of agendas for togetherness. Rosenblit’s works lean toward the uncanny and address the maintenance of care, locating ways of being together amidst (un-)familiar and impossible contradictions. Rosenblit’s writing practice spans from the paper to the stage. Desire and sexuality linger as reoccurring points of departure without demanding a singular aesthetic or representation. Rosenblit is a 2018 Guggenheim Fellow, a recipient of a 2014 New York Dance and Performance “Bessie” Award and has collaborated with artists including Simone Aughterlony, Miguel Gutierrez, A.K.Burns and Philipp Gehmacher.
A joint project with the Wiener Festwochen as part of the exhibition "Liesl Raff – Liaison".
